July 3rd, and we are on our way to Coors Field, Denver to watch a Rockies game. Mike got us all tickets, so off we went. These pictures are by no means in the right order, but I can promise you that they were all taken on July 3rd. It's not a long ride into Denver from Estes Park, (thank goodness), but it was hot, hot, hot in Denver. When we arrived at the field we weren't sure exactly where we were going but followed the crowd. Looked like we were going to get a good place to park so we didn't have to walk quite so far! Little did we know!!!! I think we were about 1 to 1 1/2 miles from the main entrance. At least it seemed that way! Barb and I jumped on a bus to take us to the entrance. The other brave souls walked!!
About the 5th inning (of a very hot day) Jackson finally gave up. There was no place to sit other than in the sun and temp. was 97 by that time. No shade at all. Karsten held him as long as he could in the consession area and then finally took his seat back in the sun. I don't know who was more tired . . . Karsten or Jackson!

Like I said, the pictures aren't all in the right order, but they were all the same day. It was a very hot day. Don't let anyone tell you they don't have humidity in Denver. They do!!!! We all had our Rockie Dog, beer, nachos, pop and anything else anyone wanted. I decided I better have something to protect my face so I bought a visor ($22.00). Should have bought a hat!! I ended up with some beautiful sunburn. Only part that really bothered in the days after was my arms, the top of my head (no I do not have dandruff, just pieces of scalp peeling off) and my neck. But it was worth it. It was fun. Karsten & Beth and boys left about the 7th inning. After they left a nice cloud cover came in to finish off the game. We decided to walk back to the car. I will not do that again!!! I made it, but boy that was a long walk! Mike even met Barb & I at the curb with the air conditioned car!!! Barb found a nice cool patio for me to sit at for a bit. She joined me with a beer. We missed a few runs, but guess it didn't matter that much. Went to the brewery for pizza and beer for supper. Always good in Estes Park!!!
So ended day 2!
