Surprise Party!

Tristan liked the birthday hat!

A special gift from Linda.

Soupy and . . . Baade!

It was a great day for a surprise birthday party. We were all together on vacation in July and I suggested to Beth that we have a surprise 60th birthday party for Glee. She thought it was a good idea too and we went on from there. Beth did the majority of the work. The idea might have been mine but she did the work! While Glee & Ron were on vacation Beth got into their address book and emailed invitations to everyone.

We kept the menu simple, brats & hotdogs, chips and cupcakes for the birthday cake. My job was to bring the cupcakes. I had a local store make us some 'smores cupcakes. They were really cute! We had Edgewood Locker brats and they were great! Barb & Karsten were our grillmasters and did a darn good job!

Mike came right after the Foels' family & Barb & I got there and helped get the fire going and the grills. We set up the food on the tables and then just sat back and enjoyed the day. People started arriving and soon Glee & Ron came. Boy was she surprised. Jackson & Tristan ran over to her yelling Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday! She was certainly dressed for the occasion! She had on her fishing clothes - that's what Beth told her they wanted to do. I loved the stocking cap Glee!

The walnut trees were shedding their wares that day! We had nuts falling all over. Might have had something to do with the breeze! No one got hit on the head (thank goodness) but they do make a nice noise when they drop near you!!

Jackson & Papa did a little fishing. They caught some!! Jackson gets so excited! It's so much fun to be around the little ones.

The food was great and the company was even better. I think everyone had a good time. We stayed down there until almost 8 p.m. It was starting to get a little chilly. Was fun. I know I enjoyed it and I think Glee & Ron did too.

As usual my pictures aren't in any special order but I tried to put captions under each one explaining what and who. Enjoy.

A long time . . .

Finally I've gotten back to my blog. It's been a long time and I can't even finish my Colorado pictures. At least not tonight. I've just got my computer back. I have a friend who looked at it, said it definitely needed some help, and gave it some. He literally blew everything away on it. I copied all my pictures (burned CD's and also moved them to a external drive) but forgot to copy my files on Word Perfect (my word processing program). So, I'll just have to look them all over and see if I can come up with anything worth posting. Plus the fact that Colorado is really old news already!!!

I just finished copying a bunch of pictures of Beth's boys. I try to do scrapbooks for her and my sister with all the pictures they put on Facebook or Beth's blog. I really enjoy making the books but boy am I behind on that!!! Wished I could take a week off and just scrapbook! I haven't done a lot lately, guess I was just burnt out, but really want to continue to work at different projects now. The obsession is back!!

That's about it for now. I promise to have some pictures of the surprise birthday party for my sister and Jackson's 4th birthday party.

You all take care of each other out there.
